The New Leadership: Spirit & Integrity

The answer to the challenges facing leaders today. Assuming all people are leaders at some time, this course teaches what others "tell" contemporary leaders to do--be visionary, coach your employees, think systems, work with teams, promote collaboration, use information technology and on and on. 

The market is flooded with "novel" ideas about leadership, including an unprecedented level of indecipherable jargon.  Despite these many competing claims, there are few authentic approaches to leadership.  Executives seeking to stretch themselves as leaders need reliable resources, practical guidance and specific methods for honing these essential skills.  To grow and develop, the gift of leadership requires continuous cultivation.

This five-day program in two parts helps participants develop a highly individualized approach to the practice of the new leadership.   Self-exploration is facilitated through journaling, peer consulting, reading, tutorials and discussion.

In this five-day session, participants will:

  1. Identify the values and principles of leadership and continuous improvement.
  2. See systems at work in their organization and understand the effects of internal competition.
  3. Identify and enhance the components of trust and weaken those of fear in an organization.
  4. Understand human motivation and know how to enhance it.
  5. Practice effective coaching skills.
  6. Utilize principles of continuously learning organizations.
  7. Speak, read and meet with others more efficiently and effectively.
  8. Use purpose, vision and values to govern an organization; lead an entire organization in creating its future together.
  9. Coalesce a team.
  10. Manage change appropriately for a given culture.
  11. Work through differences creatively.
  12. Learn how to celebrate with people.
  13. Improve themselves as leaders.
